About Haynes T. Russell

Haynes Russell joined Pentecost, Glenn & Tilly, PLLC in 2019. Haynes devotes the majority of his practice to civil rights defense, governmental entity & governmental employee defense, appellate advocacy, landlord-tenant law, and general civil litigation. He is licensed to practice before all Tennessee state courts and is admitted in the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Haynes is at home advocating in both state and federal court, effectively defending governmental entities and their employees across West and Middle Tennessee, successfully arguing multiple appeals at the Tennessee Court of Appeals, and achieving successful outcomes for his small business and individual clients.

Haynes graduated cum laude from Samford University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science. After obtaining his undergraduate degree, he earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Cumberland School of Law in 2018, graduating in the top 10% of his class. While at Cumberland, Haynes served as an associate editor for Cumberland Law Review. Prior to joining Pentecost, Glenn & Tilly, he worked as a judicial law clerk at the Tennessee Court of Appeals for Judge Brandon O. Gibson.

Haynes is a proud West Tennessee resident, who is originally from Brownsville, Tennessee, and now resides in Jackson, Tennessee, with his wife. He worships at Fellowship Bible Church and is proud to serve as a board member for Madison County CASA, a nonprofit that trains volunteers to advocate for safe, permanent, and nurturing homes for abused and neglected children in Madison County. Haynes is also an associate member of the Howell Edmunds Jackson Inn of Court – an organization designed to foster excellence in professionalism and legal skills as well as promote collegiality among members of the bench and bar. In his free time enjoys playing tennis, watching college football, playing guitar, and duck hunting.
